Same as bathroom, the kitchen is probably one of the most complex and most costly restoration projects you can do and, honestly, it is best if we leave it to the hands of the professionals. Of course that doesn’t mean that you cannot totally interfere or suggest anything to the professionals, it’s your house in the first place. You have the control and authority whether you want your house to look this and that.

Basically, before undergoing such, you have to consider what’s going to be the purpose of your kitchen. Yes, for cooking and all, but you have to consider the other possible purposes of your kitchen. If you would want to entertain your guests there, then might as well put a breakfast nook or some sort. If you want for it to be your “mess” corner, then don’t add so much design, just extend the tabletops if it’s too small.

This is a step up from the simple single wall kitchen. The corridor kitchen design is very functional because the classic kitchen triangle can be used in this setting. This kitchen design layout offers more cabinet space and counters.

The advantage of this kitchen layout is that it brings the most out of a small space. It has an added convenience because the kitchen appliances are close to one another, making it easier for the cook to do things faster.

The corridor kitchen is a combination of simplicity and functionality.
It can be converted to a U-Shape Kitchen by simply closing off one end.

With regards to kitchen sinks, one has the option of whether to install a one-bowl sink or a two-bowl sink depending on the workload of the person. You wouldn’t have a two-bowl sink if you’re only 3 in the family, wouldn’t you? It takes up unnecessary space when in fact you could have placed a nice coffee brewer in that very same spot.

If you have granite table tops, better make use of an under mount kitchen sink to achieve that optimum look on your table top. Faucet styles should also be considered. High arched brass faucets add elegance and can create a dramatic look to your food hub.

Having dark colors inside the house, aside from the fact that it can impose a very gloomy ambiance, can make your home look smaller. The scientific explanation for this is that dark colors absorb all the light and so, light tends to be trapped (it doesn’t reflect back much light to the eyes compared to lighter colors). Now, if you have black granite tabletops, change it. Although black granite looks adorable and stylish, it won’t do you any good since the first thing that your visitor will notice is not beautiful your granite tabletops are, but how small your kitchen is.

1. Use durable materials. Especially if you use your kitchen often, you should use good, sturdy materials that will stand the test of time even though it’s exposed to a lot of heat, moisture, oil, and whatnot.

2. Make sure that you have safe storage space for all you utensils, implements, pots, pans, etc. Knives especially should NEVER be left lying around and must always be stored properly. The same goes for any breakables like china and porcelain, as well as glasses and mugs.

3. Make your storage cabinets accessible.

4. Don’t be too fussy over the design. Heavy kitchen users especially should not use too much unessential designs like a chandelier in the kitchen, as these will only collect grime over time, and will be extremely difficult to clean, whether over time, or regularly and frequently.

There are a lot of small things that can give an otherwise drab kitchen new life such as novelty cabinet hardware that comes in many shapes and sizes.
Go to the hardware store and take a sample with you so you get those that line-up so you don’t end up with kitchen and cabinet doors studded with holes. If the ones you have are old and you think may be of value, why not get them on ebay for another man’s junk may be gold to others. Use fancy ones that have either glass or crystal inserts to add sophistication. Got stains on the ceiling, measure out the part and order a stainless steel panel you can bolt onto the wall for some effect, it’s also a lot easier to clean.

Safety

The Induction stove-top stays cool no matter what. The heating process takes place in the cookware and not in the stove top. This is ideal because you don’t have to worry about you and your kids getting burned. YOU CAN TOUCH THE STOVE TOP WITHOUT GETTING BURNED, (unless your hand is made of iron).

Since induction stove-tops do not use gas, you would not need to worry about gas leaks and risk of getting fire. This is also recommended for people who are physically impaired because of its user- friendliness.
*Many people do not know this that gas cooking releases carbon monoxide, an invisible gas that is very harmful to your health.

Advantages of Induction Cook-tops 2

Maximum control and accuracy
The process of induction cooking works like this: energy is given directly to the cook-ware via magnetic field; this maximizes the use of energy unlike the electric and gas stove-tops. No excess heat is generated. You have absolute control of the temperature and you can change it INSTANTLY and ACCURATELY.

Cleanliness
Induction cook tops have a smooth surface making it easy to clean. Unlike gas stove-tops it does not accumulate grease build-ups. And it doesn’t smell like burning metal like electric stoves.
And because it is “flame-less” cook wares will not develop char marks in the bottom.

Better energy consumption

It runs on electricity, (which is ideal because petroleum products are getting more expensive nowadays ). And because of the faster cooking time, you can save on the electricity as well.
Compared to electricity powered stove—tops induction cooktops appear to be 85-90% more energy efficient. Compared gas-driven models, induction cooktops use up about half the energy.

Faster Cooking Speed
Induction cooktops beat other models in terms of speed. This is because induction stoves heats up much faster than a gas stove or electric range can. This allows for lesser minutes staying in the kitchen.

If you are renovating your kitchen, you may want to include INDUCTION COOKTOPS in your list of development.

So what is an Induction cooktop?
Induction cooking is cooking without flame. Yes you’ve read it right WITHOUT FLAMES.

While traditional ranges (be it gas or electric types) the burners are heated up. Then you would take the pan on top of the burner so that heat from it will be conducted to cook the food.

Induction cooktops on the other hand uses a technology that involves magnetic fields to induct a warming effect in pots or pans made of steel. This is a different kind of heat generation as compared to electric stoves because it is the one heating up and not the burner
